Australian shark attacks claim more people
A 55-year-old man died due to a shark attack in a tourist resort on the coast of the Indian Ocean.
The police pulled the man from the water while he was seriously injured and tried to treat him, but he died at the scene of the accident before the paramedics arrived.
It is not known what kind of shark attacked the man and bitten him in the upper thigh and hand, and it is the number 8 death due to shark attacks this year.
And the most recent previous attack in Western Australia was on October 9, when a shark attacked a surfer in Esperance, on the southern coast of the state, and a man (Andrew Sharp) was seen pulling off his skateboard.
His body was not found despite a three-day search, but his skateboard and parts of his wetsuit were found.
The town of Broome, close to where the most recent shark attack occurred, is about 1,600 kilometers north of Western Australia's largest city Perth.
