These experts said that genetic variations and sexual differences sometimes lead to a loss of immunity, and that the common denominator between these cases is a lack of (interferon), which helps to regulate the body's ability to resist viral pathogens.
This substance is a small protein of many types produced by activated T lymphocytes.
This research reveals that few patients develop serious conditions due to weak immune response.
And two studies were published in a scientific journal confirming that insufficient interferon is considered a dangerous turning point for the Corona virus.
Sean Crotty, a researcher at the Infectious Diseases Research Center in California, USA, says that the Corona virus has a great trick in which it can avoid the primary immune system response for a period of time, especially it can avoid the interferon.
This development highlights the possibility of treating patients with Corona virus based on the interferon, and these treatments include remdesivir cells and convalescent plasma, which is a component of the blood components of patients who have recovered from the disease, as they contain useful immune factors.
These treatments for difficult cases have limited benefit, but this discovery is likely to help improve the performance of these treatments.
The use of interferon seems to be more effective, especially in the early stages of infection, and it is possible to avoid respiratory failure that threatens the patient’s life.
