Manchester United concur £40m charge for Ajax midfielder
United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a big fan of the 23-year-old Netherlands international, who has watched him in a number of matches and has been following him for seasons.
It is understood that United have now confirmed their interest in medical and personal terms that have not yet been reached. But it will be announced in the near future.
The transfer is expected to be completed within the next few days
Van de Bey is understood to have signed a five-year contract with United, which would allow him to make United's opening match of the 2020-21 season available against Crystal Palace on 19 September.
He will become Solskjaer's first signing in the near future after a move that received wide media coverage for Borussia Dortmund's English winger Jadon Sancho was halted due to the size of the fee.
Van de Pec was part of the outstanding Ajax team that reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2019 and played a clear role in his team's arrival in the Golden Box.
He was ruled out of ajax's friendly with German duo Eintracht Frankfurt and the Berlin Union at the weekend.
