Toyota announces its new electric car with a battery that charges in 10 minutes
The Japanese newspaper Nikkei Asia reported that Toyota is expected to launch its new electric car in the market in 2021, and that its battery will be very solid.
The report stated that this event is a game changer. An electric car can charge its battery from zero to 100% in just 10 minutes, and one charge is sufficient to drive the car for a distance of 500 kilometers.
Thus, Toyota will change the view of electric cars in terms of the criticisms that have been directed at them because of their battery and the short distance they travel in a single charge, in addition to the length of the charging period.
The use of solid batteries is safer than lithium-ion batteries that are used frequently, and their energy density is higher than any other battery.
The Japanese newspaper reported that the production site at the R&D center in Saitama will be able to produce solid batteries next year to meet the demands of prototypes.
